The Top 10 Most Common Languages

Do you think that your language belongs to the most common languages? You may think that you are fluent enough to communicate with the other people living in different country for the fact that you know how to speak in English. Yes, it is true that English is the universal language but this does not mean that many people really understand and can speak in English. There are actually other languages that you are commonly used all over the world. One factor that affects the spread of a language is the population and the land of the country. If you are living in a more polluted and a larger land area, then there would really be a great possibility that your language is included in the most common languages. Here are the list of the top 10 most common languages and see whether your own language is included or not.


10. German

This is a West Germanic language that is related to English and Dutch. It is estimated that there are 98 million native speakers of this language that is why it is included in the most common language in the world. German is actually a combination of different languages derived from the Germanic branch of the Indo-European family. This language is greatly used by many foreign residents living in Germany. Foreigners who want to migrate in Germany will need to pass the language exam before they can enter the country.


9. Japanese

Are you confused why Japan is included in the list of common languages; well in fact it is a small country. Japan is a dense community that is why there are about 120 million people all over Japan who speaks in Japanese. There are also emigrants who also practice speaking and writing in Japanese. This language is quite hard to understand and write compare to other languages that uses only ABCDs as their alphabets.

In fact, this is the official language of Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape, Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and Sao Tome and Prinsipe. This language is also known as the Romance language.

This language is an eastern Indo-Aryan language. This is the native language of South Asia that is composed of Bangladesh, the Indian state of West Bengal, and other parts of the Indian states of Tripura and Assam. There about 180 million native speakers of this language and this does not include other emigrants and other people who can speak and use this language as a way to communicate their friends and love ones.

Arabic is the primary language spoken by the people living in the Middle East and North Africa. This language is widely used by the people who transfer and live in Middle East. This language is not as easy as learning the other language but you will definitely understand this language when you hear it over and over again. There are about 206 million native speakers of this language that made it one of the most common languages of the world.

The best thing about English is that you can easily understand this language. English is actually very important among all other language because this is definitely the best language to use in communicating other people from other places. If you know and understand English, then there would be no problem in visiting other countries. People from other countries will voluntarily study this language since this is the common language used in business. There is an estimation of 322 million native speakers of this language, thus this makes it belong to the most common language.


3. Spanish

Spanish was originated in Spain and there are more native speakers who used this language worldwide. There are about 340 million native speakers of this language. Spanish is a language that most people want to learn. Most emigrants in Spain are trying their best to learn how to speak and write this language.  This language is also used in some other countries that were colonized by Spain way back in history.

Hindi is actually influenced and enriched by Dravidian, Turkish, Farsi, Arabic, Portuguese, and English. This really makes the language more brilliant and more significant. This is mostly used by poetic writers and other creative writers because the words convey strong emotions can reflect one’s life. There are about 360 native Hindi speakers who influences that widespread of this language all over the world. Among all the common languages, this language is the most favorite of some writers.

It is quite very obvious why this Chinese is the most common language. People from China are the ones who are native speakers of Chinese. It is estimated that there are 1.1 billion native speakers of this language. China is actually one of the largest country and they are also known as one of the most populated countries worldwide. This may be one of the factors why Chinese is the most common language that is used by a large number of people. In addition, people who migrate in China are also using Chinese as their language.
